As the name suggests this is a stage. Basically you can place your Japanese figures onto this thing and with the assistance of the stage hold any kind of dynamic pose you want.
Interestingly enough this is the fifth series of the stages. Apparently there's been four previous versions each one more advance than the previous, and each one available in multiple colors. Though as far as I can find (without paying more than the listed price above) was the clear one.
So what can you do with this thing besides hold the following line of figures? Robot Damashii, SHFigures, SIC to just name a couple of lines that are included on the box as advertisement. You can connect each of the stands together to form a diorama of your figures in action poses.
Now aside from what you can do...you may ask how is the plastic? It's very sturdy. The plastic seems like to can almost any of the recently released figures.
But as a test I went ahead and slapped on an older figure. The transformable Gundam Wing from the popular Gundam universe. This figure is from the defunct Mobile Suit in Action line which was converted to an American side release. The other figure is from the same line, and is the Gundam Wing Zero Custom or Endless Waltz version (yes it's suppose to look like an angel...with a big friggin gun.) These particular figures were released during the final days of the American line. You may find the Japanese counterpart on eBay or through speciality shops...you may also find the American versions on eBay but don't expect them to be cheap...

Anyway, the stand wasn't made to hold figures made with heavier plastics so it does have balancing issues.
But if you use the current generation figures you'll be just fine.
I really don't need to spend a lot of time explaining what you can and cannot do with this item.
One thing I should mention is this item does NOT need to connect to your figures at all. Another company that makes such pose-able figures is Kaiyoda and their Revoltech line. These figures are just as articulate as the last figures I've reviewed. I also own a few from this line as well. But that particular line includes a very generic base, which requires it to plug into their figure(s).
The Stage only grasps the figure by the waist. So you don't have to worry about the figure falling suddenly if the peg-in-hole decides to succumb to gravity. The only problem you need to worry about is if the waist has enough room to accommodate the clasps. One other thing I should mention, is
that the weight and poses of the figure can cause instability, and therefore may fall over or the figure falling from the clasp all together.
Over all I think for the price you pay you get multiple stands per box, and enough connector options you don't need to buy the previous iterations of this item. I.e. if you have a humanoid figure, you need the humanoid stand...No. In fact I was surprised it included 3 stands for the price. So when I opened it I was pleasantly surprised. Definitely a worthy item for anyone who is collecting any of the recently released figures from Japan...or for anyone that wants to pose their figures.
