A lot has changed in the last few years since I've touch writing about these ships. COVID-19, Eagle Moss shuttering after a tumultuous period of issues with ships and the subsequent volumes losing their physical copies of the magazines.
Just a month or two ago Master Replica picked up the license to sell off an excess stock of the Eagle Moss produced ships. And the last I heard MR will be picking up the line going forward.

I've even ran out of space to perform reviews of the ships I did receive due to storage issues, and technology snafus. Let's pick up where I left off...

In this installment if you opted for the mail subscription you get two very, very specific ships. Both hardly had a lot of screen time, but of course deserve a physical copy even though they're probably considered just a note in the Star Trek universe.

Review

If you're not familiar with Eagle Moss' hit-or-miss quality control, then you're fortunate. If you are then you know that every ship you received there is aways some kind of detail that is either off, added, or just not painted. Also some seams and sometimes pieces that need more glue to hold them together...

Fortunately the glue is not needed for these two editions. Yes there's some finite details that were not painted. Example the exposed circuitry on the side of the Baxial's main windows. A neat little thing is the audience never sees the whole ship from different vantage points, so there's no way to know it is asymmetrical.
Now whether or not this is truly accurate is a different story, but it is a neat little glimpse into the rest of the ship. As well as the docking clamps for the cargo pods. For a minor ship not a bad incarnation, now let's look at the Romulan Shuttle.

If you're not familiar with this ship, it appeared mainly in one infamous episode of DS9 "In the Pale Moonlight" One specific moment in the episode also spawned a meme. The shuttle had a couple of seconds of screen time...so it is a very minor ship.
But for a minor ship EM did a fairly decent job with paint applications. A metallic green and some different shades of the green with a touch of translucent blue on the nacelles. The standard gold and copper vents. Offset with a little bit of grey. There's even little bits of texture on the hull of the ship. This is fairly accurate to the show

Of the two ships, if you are selecting sourcing a collection while one is a minor hero ship, the other is a minor ship in a specific episode. The winner is the Romulan Shuttle. It's visually pleasing versus the Baxial.

Verdict: B

Two minor shuttles, both with good detail and fairly screen accurate. One is superior over the other for sure. Though not perfect, it's a very decent rendition of something that was seen for a maybe a couple of minutes of screen time.
